Australia Day celebrations started early at Port City Bowling Club, with a 24-hour ‘Bowls 4 Balls’ challenge.

Teams will bowl through the night, rotating every two hours, while raising money for prostate cancer.

“we’re hoping to raise 5,000 just over the 24 hour period, so we’re really hoping that some people can come down and have a look at the guys that are competing – ladies and men,” Bowls Coordinator Phil Baker said.

The game wraps up at 2pm tomorrow, with proceeds going to the Cancer Council.
